Des visited Silverwood Primary School in New Farm Loch and delivered a Decision Making Workshop to Primary Seven. The group of pupils acted out political scenarios in the class. Role playing as Government Ministers; they had to debate with each other how best to spend the country's budget.
Des Browne MP said: "The Decision Making Workshop helps pupils to develop a sense of responsibility and gives them a realistic experience of what is involved in making complex decisions. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to their opinions and their reasoning. They were all enthusiastic and engaged with the task. The school and their families should be very proud of them.
"Making tough decisions and having to think about the effect decisions can have on other people, is a part of life. This group of bright young sparks could well be the future leaders of our country. They were a credit to Silverwood and to their teacher."
